The title of the project is taken from the final line of Filastrocca del bambino futuro (Nursery Rhyme of the Future Child) by Bruno Tognolini. It refers to every child’s right to “grow up in a family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding” as a fundamental prerequisite for their future development.
The project addresses the issue of child maltreatment through an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach, with a strong focus on prevention and on identifying the needs of families—including those that are not openly expressed, whether due to fear or lack of awareness. Prevention is the first meaningful step in effectively addressing child maltreatment. To speak and act preventively means to anticipate risk factors and to foster protective ones from the earliest stages of a child’s life.
The initiative aims to pilot a new intervention model in the areas of Milan (Districts 6 and 3), Pieve Emanuele, Locate di Triulzi, Monza, and Varese, through interconnected actions, training initiatives, and awareness-raising efforts.
As part of the project, Codici carried out a participatory research process to explore the project’s key themes, identify training needs, and gather insights from all participating organizations. Based on this research, Codici will co-develop a participatory training toolkit together with illustrator Arianna Vairo, and with contributions from all project partners.
The project is promoted by Spazio Aperto Servizi, in partnership with Anteo Cooperativa Sociale Onlus, Azienda Socio Sanitaria Territoriale (ASST) Monza, Being, Cesvi Fondazione Onlus, Città Metropolitana di Milano, Codici, the Municipality of Locate di Triulzi, Municipality of Milan, Municipality of Pieve Emanuele, Municipality of Varese, Lo Scrigno Società Cooperativa Sociale Onlus, and Proges Cooperativa Sociale.
